What internet speed do you need for 4K IPTV?
Allow a real 10 Mbps for HD, 15 to 20 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps for 4K, per simultaneous stream. The key word is “real”: the figure that counts is the one measured between 8 pm and 11 pm, never the advertised speed in your contract.
How much speed for which quality?

These values are comfort minimums, not operating thresholds. Below them, playback starts but degrades as soon as another use takes up the line.
How do you measure your speed properly?
A test taken at 3 pm tells you nothing about the evening. The useful method has four steps:
- Measure between 8 pm and 11 pm, when the local network is at its busiest.
- Repeat the test on three different evenings and keep the lowest value.
- Test over Wi-Fi from where the TV actually sits, not next to the router.
- Run another test over Ethernet: the gap between the two figures shows how much the Wi-Fi is costing you.
The limit: adequate speed does not eliminate latency. A 40 Mbps line with heavy jitter can give less stable playback than a steady 20 Mbps line.
Fibre, ADSL or 4G: how does each option fare in Morocco?
Fibre remains the most comfortable option, especially for 4K. ADSL is generally fine for HD on a single stream. 4G works very well where coverage is good, but its speed varies a lot with the time of day and how saturated the cell is — it is the least predictable option for daily evening viewing.

What should you do when your speed falls short?
Three adjustments give an immediate gain without changing your plan: force the profile to Full HD instead of 4K, connect the box over Ethernet, and raise the buffer to around ten seconds. If the picture is still unstable after these three settings, the problem is the line itself and no setting will make up for it. Does upload speed matter?
Very little. Playback mainly uses download speed. Upload only matters if other uses in the household, such as a video call, saturate the line at the same time.
Does a Wi-Fi repeater improve playback?
It extends the range but often halves the available speed. For a TV that stays in one place, an Ethernet cable or a powerline adapter gives a more stable result than a repeater.
